CDSA and KSA Kick Off New Partnership with MOU Signing
September 23, 2025 Beijing - The China Diving & Salvage Association (CDSA) and the Korea Shipping Association (KSA) held a meeting and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the CDSA headquarters, marking the opening of a new chapter in their cooperation.
The meeting was hosted by Ms. Dong Xuanxuan, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Maritime Affairs Department. Mr. Chen Biwu, President of CDSA, delivered the welcome remark, extending a warm welcome to the six-member KSA delegation led by CEO Lee Cheik and emphasizing the significant importance of the bilateral cooperation.

In his subsequent speech, Mr. Lee Cheik reviewed the solid foundation of the China-ROK exchanges and expressed his hope to establish a close cooperative relationship between KSA and CDSA through this opportunity.

Mr. Song Jiahui, Honorary Lifetime President of CDSA, fondly recalled the development of the relationship since his invited visits to the Republic of Korea dating back to 1999, including his visit to KSA in June 2024. He expressed great pleasure at this return visit led by CEO Lee Cheik and the signing of the MOU.

During the meeting, both parties watched introductory videos of CDSA and KSA, enhancing mutual understanding.
Witnessed by Mr. Song Jiahui, Honorary Lifetime President of CDSA, Ms. Chen Liping, Vice President and Secretary-General of CDSA, and other members from both sides, President Chen Biwu and CEO Lee Cheik jointly signed the MOU. The MOU aims to establish a long-term cooperation framework, facilitating practical collaboration in various areas including shipping safety, talent cultivation, information sharing, and ship pollution prevention to jointly address new challenges in the maritime sector.

A ceremonial exchange of gifts highlighted the event. CEO Lee Cheik presented a commemorative silk banner to CDSA, while President Chen Biwu presented a CDSA commemorative gift in return, further enhancing the cordial atmosphere.


The meeting and signing ceremony concluded successfully in a friendly and pragmatic atmosphere, laying a solid foundation for in-depth future cooperation in emergency response, salvage, and related fields.
